I just need that info and it’s coming your way for free, baby. Yeah! Pieces of feedback that i’m getting from viewers watch my videos is, yeah, that’s great. If we initiate the backswing by the way i’m telling you to do it, you’re still going to get stuck and you can’t get through the ball without having to flip at it.
The most important thing that we have to remember is you’ve got to get your mind away from things about using your hands and arms to swing this club around because when you focus on that then yes you will get stuck because it’s hard to not come back the other way without flipping at it from these positions so the easiest thing that you can do is get into your address position cross the club across your chest and Go into your backswing. So I’m focusing on pushing through the inside of my right foot. My core is engaged. I’m driving my right leg through the ground. I’m trying to get my back to the target. And then from here, I’m not going to think about doing anything at all with my shoulders.
The only thing I’m going to think about doing from here is rotating my belt buckle to the target and moving my hips. to the target. So actually in the exact opposite order. We’re going to bump, so I’m bumping my hips to the target, and I’m rotating my hips to the target. Ideally, this happens simultaneously, but to learn it first is what we’re going to do. Top of the backswing, bump, so I’m just bumping over there, and then turn. Bump, Now from here, you’re not stuck. You’re not blocked. Because the hips are now out of the way. So now all you have to do is release. And you get through the ball. So it’s called the bump and turn, baby. The bump and turn.
Bump and turn, right? Does that look good from that angle? Bump and turn, bump and turn. Okay, lock it up. Here we go. Here we go again. load up, bump, bump, turn. Break it down like that and then as we get better we’re going to bump and turn simultaneously. So we’re going to bump and turn simultaneously. You cannot physically get stuck if the hips are out of the way. The only way you get stuck is if the hips are not out of the way. Now I have to flip at it. So if my hands and belt buckle and club head are always facing each other, then you’re stuck and you have to flip at it. But if the belt buckle is leading the way, then you’ve got all the room in the world to just let it fly, baby.
So here we go. Ready? Address, top of the backswing, bump, Turn. Now all I have to do is release. Right? Can’t get stuck. Can’t get blocked. It’s physically, I was going to say physically impossible, but I know there’s going to be somebody out there that’s going to screw it up. It makes it really, really difficult to screw it up. Okay. Bump and turn. Address. Back swing. Boom. Oh, that That was about a 180 yard wedge right there, boy. I should be on the tour. Yeah!

Dr. Jake Berman

Dr. Jake Berman

After graduating from the University of Florida, Dr. Jake Berman, PT, DPT sought out mentorship first from Bob Seton in Destin, FL and then from Aaron Robles in Jacksonville, FL. Both of these mentors have 20+ years of experience helping people keep active and mobile so they can enjoy high quality active lifestyles. What Jake found was that back pain was by far the most debilitating pain and the highest factor leading to decreased physical activity later in life. These experiences are what inspired Jake to specialize in helping people aged 50+ keep active, mobile and pain free despite the aging process. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to alleviate somebody’s back pain so that they can get back to living their best life- especially in Naples! Over the years of helping 100’s of people aged 65-75 become stronger and pain free, one thing for sure has become apparent: “he who rests rots”. Jake is a firm believer that we become stiff then old, not old then stiff. Seriously, think about it...
