2 SIMPLE DRILLS TO MAXIMIZE YOUR CARRY DISTANCE!

And we’re rolling, baby! Shoulder turn, club head speed, and power. Let’s generate more of it. So we’re going to do a combo with two tools right here. We got an iron and we got a foam roller. Number one, the The best way, the easiest way to generate more shoulder turn is with the foam roller. Put it on your chest. You’ve seen me do this a bunch of times. Address position. Don’t point the thing down at the ball. You know, address position. Start engaging the core muscles. Feel the ground. And then turn, turn, keeping your head on the ball. Don’t let your head deviate. So we’re turning. Make sure the belt buckle is turning and you’re still pushing through the ground.
and push as hard, as hard as you can through the ground, keeping that knee bent. Don’t straighten it. Keep pushing, and then try to get a little bit farther, a little bit farther. You should feel your core working like crazy, like crazy. Don’t lose pressure there, and don’t pass out at the same time as you’re trying to say all this stuff. Ah, these muscles are working like crazy. This is getting my back to the target, so better shoulder turn while keeping my head here and loading my right side. Then we’re going to take that and incorporate the split grip drill. Address position. Once you get there, slide the right hand halfway off the grip and the same thing. Take the left hand back and think about pushing your knuckles away
from the target as you keep this thing bent, the right knee bent, pushing through the inside of that right foot. The core is engaged, so I’m trying to push my knuckles away and letting this right elbow just drop here. Just let it relax. That’s getting the shoulder turn to occur. Now, the important part about this one is when we maintain a straight elbow here, we’re maintaining a big arc for the club head. The bigger the arc, the bigger the radius from the inside or maintaining an extension of the chest or the hands away from the chest, the faster the club head can move. It’s simple physics. It really is. The bigger the arc, the faster the club head will move with the same amount of power or energy usage, right?
So here we go. Address position, split grip drill, Take the knuckles straight back, making sure that the belt buckle’s going so the knuckles are straight away from the target. They’re not wrapped around the damn neck like this. Normal grip, core’s engaged real hard, pushing real hard through the inside of that foot. Now we’ve generated power, and then we’re just gonna undo it. That’s how you’re gonna generate more shoulder turn, more club head speed, and then generating more power and transfer that power into the golf ball. Now, the icing on the cake is something that I’ve been getting yelled at over and over again the past few months from my PGA pros giving me lessons saying that you’ve got to make sure that it’s a controlled backswing because what I’ve been doing is getting here thinking that I’m stopping here.
Every time I’m getting here thinking that I’m stopping there, And the main reason is because we’re not going slow enough into the backswing. So now exaggerate, the icing on the cake, put it all together, is exaggerate how slow you’re going in the backswing. So see if you can get to three Mississippi or four Mississippi. So one Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi, four Mississippi, hold. And then undo it. Yeah, baby, make sure you like, subscribe, share it. And keep on keeping on, baby. Yeah!

Dr. Jake Berman

After graduating from the University of Florida, Dr. Jake Berman, PT, DPT sought out mentorship first from Bob Seton in Destin, FL and then from Aaron Robles in Jacksonville, FL. Both of these mentors have 20+ years of experience helping people keep active and mobile so they can enjoy high quality active lifestyles. What Jake found was that back pain was by far the most debilitating pain and the highest factor leading to decreased physical activity later in life. These experiences are what inspired Jake to specialize in helping people aged 50+ keep active, mobile and pain free despite the aging process. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to alleviate somebody’s back pain so that they can get back to living their best life- especially in Naples! Over the years of helping 100’s of people aged 65-75 become stronger and pain free, one thing for sure has become apparent: “he who rests rots”. Jake is a firm believer that we become stiff then old, not old then stiff. Seriously, think about it...
